Title Research: Succession


 Succession is a drama based on what the main character will do as he is the center if attention in the business he owns. His decision is based solely on what's based for himself, the company, and his family.

 - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?


Images prioritized in the opening sequence are mainly his family. His children are constantly shown and his home as well. The following images are what seem to be of the press and what looks like a downtown area. This may represent his business and how he is the center of attention.Whatever move he makes will effect him devastatingly.


 - What connotations do these images carry?


These images carry connotations of what the main character wants to do. His decision is very important to not only him but his family. whatever he chooses to do impacts the business and he needs to expand on what he has built up.


 - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?


The film establish this dramatic effect by constantly showing his family. Especially right after it shows a shutoff the downtown area which represents his business. What also adds to this dramatic effect is the shots of the news. They all ask what will the main character do to expand the business and if he can expand it. Obviously there is a lot going on in the film and the main character is being watched by the whole world.


 - What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?


The strategies used are the shots and the order in which they are placed in. First its is family, then his home, then the buisness. This order holds some meaning to it as it repeats throughout the video. Whichever is most important to him is based solely on his decision.


 - How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.

Constant close up and tracking shots on his family add to the dramatic effect as well as the long shots of the downtown buildings. The editing is also important as it cuts right to the next scene constantly.

Genre Research: Queen And Slim

 Q ueen and Slim is another great movie. It gives off a different version of Bonnie and Clyde. The movie tells about two young adults, male and female, being on the run for the murder of a police officer after being pulled over one night. The two were at first, on a regular date getting to know each other and as they are on the way home, they are stopped by a white male police officer and was gunned down by him when he shot the female. After that the man shot the police officer and then they fled the scene and that's how their story begins. This movie is a great movie to put into the drama section. There are so many dramatic scenes in this movies from the beginning to the end. The scenes that had all of the action and heartfelt parts in it carried the movie the way it was supposed to be carried. Production Blog: We pick Sunday!!!

 After enough decision making our group finally came to a conclusion on what and how everything we get done. Due to the fact we haven't recorded our final film, we are still throughout the second portion of our project. We will be recording this Sunday. Leading us to the finish line and being almost done. By then everybody in the group should have their individual clips filmed. While also remembering all parts accordingly. Leading us to not have as many mistakes and dealings pushing forward with the film process. Doing it this way will give us a great amount of editing time, allowing us to turn in the film by Thursday at the latest.
