Genre Decision


  In this final task, we were told to base our movie clip on one single genre. The genre that me and my group mates chose to do was drama. We chose the genre because based on our ideas that we've came up with to base our film on, the drama genre fell right into it. I also believe that we chose this certain genre because we felt like this is one of the genres that nobody really uses. The main genres used for this project by other classmates are usually action, horror or thriller and our group just kind of wanted to be different. The drama genre is a very interesting genre in my opinion. In a drama film, it feels like it fits every other genre in one. For example, a drama film can include horror, some action and a bit of comedy in it also, but overall the film is dramatic and has many different things added and flipped around during the film. In drama movies, you usually don't expect the next to happen. In these types of films, characters usually are in shock most of the time. Not knowing whats really going on. In drama films there are also a lot of plot twist. Something happens, but the plot twist makes a comeback on one of the characters in the film. Many answers are discovered and mysteries are usually unlocked. In the scenes, many obstacles are faced. This makes the film more dramatic when the character has to find their way through the obstacles and the audience can see that it is a struggle for the characters. And in the end, whether it is a movie or not, the film ends in a happy ending. For example, the characters could have been going through trouble and many obstacles during the whole series or movie, but at the end, something great happens and everyone is once again at peace. In a genre film, you notice that there are many other genres mixed in there. In these type of films you can catch action while people are doing something such as fighting or something such as cars crashing into each other. You experience horror when something happens such as someone running away from a killer. The drama genre itself is very creative and unique and I believe that my group mates and I will really have fun

Genre Research: Queen And Slim

 Q ueen and Slim is another great movie. It gives off a different version of Bonnie and Clyde. The movie tells about two young adults, male and female, being on the run for the murder of a police officer after being pulled over one night. The two were at first, on a regular date getting to know each other and as they are on the way home, they are stopped by a white male police officer and was gunned down by him when he shot the female. After that the man shot the police officer and then they fled the scene and that's how their story begins. This movie is a great movie to put into the drama section. There are so many dramatic scenes in this movies from the beginning to the end. The scenes that had all of the action and heartfelt parts in it carried the movie the way it was supposed to be carried. Production Blog: We pick Sunday!!!

 After enough decision making our group finally came to a conclusion on what and how everything we get done. Due to the fact we haven't recorded our final film, we are still throughout the second portion of our project. We will be recording this Sunday. Leading us to the finish line and being almost done. By then everybody in the group should have their individual clips filmed. While also remembering all parts accordingly. Leading us to not have as many mistakes and dealings pushing forward with the film process. Doing it this way will give us a great amount of editing time, allowing us to turn in the film by Thursday at the latest. Every group member participates throughout the film at least at some given point. My partner Aniya Smith is kilt off through the first part of the scene due to her suicide.
