Pitch Blog (My Pitch)


Pitches. As a group me and my partners came up with two pitches. Before we reached our final two, we came across and discussed many different ideas. A few of those pitches were a movie about a dog with super powers and a girl who is stuck between two boys. The final two pitches that we decided on was a friend group of 3 discovers that they have a secret admirer and a friend group of 4 broke up due to the suicide of one of the members but later reconciled due to a mystery message. What interested us about the pitch regarding the friend group of 3 is that we could each play a part being that we are also a group of 4 meaning 3 can play a part while one films. Another thing that interested us about this particular pitch is that it reminded each of us of a show we all watched. We would be interested in making this film because it would allow for all of us to showcase our acting abilities while also showcasing are directing skills. A con that we discussed if we were to make this film is that we may not all be able to get together as often due to covid-19. Another con that we discussed is that it may be too similar to the show that we all watched. What interested us about the pitch regarding online suicide and a mystery is that we all a could play and part in the film other than filming. Another thing that interested us is that it would allow for our creative abilities to really show. We would be interested in making this film because it sheds light on mental health issues which we take very seriously. A con that we discussed if we were to make this film is that we may not be able to execute it how we would hope to. Another con that we discussed is that it may be a sensitive topic for many. We had a lengthy discussion about both pitches. At one point it was two against two. Ultimately, the pitch that we decided on was a friend group of 4 that broke up due to the suicide of one of one of the members but later reconciled due to a mystery message. We chose this pitch because it includes an important issue that many people can relate to. It also will challenge our creative abilities which we are looking forward to!

Genre Research: Queen And Slim

 Q ueen and Slim is another great movie. It gives off a different version of Bonnie and Clyde. The movie tells about two young adults, male and female, being on the run for the murder of a police officer after being pulled over one night. The two were at first, on a regular date getting to know each other and as they are on the way home, they are stopped by a white male police officer and was gunned down by him when he shot the female. After that the man shot the police officer and then they fled the scene and that's how their story begins. This movie is a great movie to put into the drama section. There are so many dramatic scenes in this movies from the beginning to the end. The scenes that had all of the action and heartfelt parts in it carried the movie the way it was supposed to be carried. Production Blog: We pick Sunday!!!

 After enough decision making our group finally came to a conclusion on what and how everything we get done. Due to the fact we haven't recorded our final film, we are still throughout the second portion of our project. We will be recording this Sunday. Leading us to the finish line and being almost done. By then everybody in the group should have their individual clips filmed. While also remembering all parts accordingly. Leading us to not have as many mistakes and dealings pushing forward with the film process. Doing it this way will give us a great amount of editing time, allowing us to turn in the film by Thursday at the latest. Every group member participates throughout the film at least at some given point. My partner Aniya Smith is kilt off through the first part of the scene due to her suicide.
