Production Blog: The beginning of our film

Image
My team began the recording process for our final project during spring break. Our group has been putting in a lot of effort to nail our first scene. The video's first clip lasts about 15 to 30 seconds. Following its completion, the group's editor began the film's editing process. We haven't done much recording since the break. We'd like to film each scene separately and accordingly  We're still in the early stages of production on our film. We expect to do further recording this weekend as it is a three-day weekend and we will have plenty of time .  We also recognize that some of the group members can be unavailable at times, which is why we divided our filming dates. We want to document the film's second scene and then try to record some more during the week. If we do this and everything goes according to plan, we will be able to finish our film ahead of schedule. Our group wants to make sure that we finish all because any technological problems when apply...

Blog: First Aid

While gathering all the pieces needed to pursue the final task of our film, my group still had to think about the safety held amongst one another throughout this process. At the end of the day this is a film and we are only between the ages of 15-17 years old. The way our film is set up and the process of the actions within it, it is important that we're cautious. As a team we went over some safety rules and organized a strict protocol that is to be followed. Since the story line of our pieces involves suicide, to us and the audience our safety was very important. When it came to using realistic props and weapons, we ensured the overview of our parent guardians. In case of an emergency we ensured everyone has each others's parent contact information. While also ensuring that the location of the film was in a stable reluctant home. Overall just keeping track of everyone's health, and well being. Some scenes in our film can be a little risky, so my group had to thoroughly exp...

Production blog: Where are we?

Image
Within My groups final task, I would say we are making progress but at the same time we have been indecisive with whom will carry what role in our project. The most important thing, is that everyone in our group does hold a major part in the overall task and is talented enough to produce a great outcome within our piece. The plot all together of how we want our task to be rendered has been thoroughly discussed and agreed upon. But, now it is time to bring it to live feed and put everyone's action into play. Doing this shall not be hard but it can bring altercations if it is not done right. In all honesty my group really hasn't started filming because of this. When it comes to a piece as such its easy to overlook ones ability causing the whole entire project to not come together as it should have. When it comes to choosing these roles my group and i have chose to observe each ones talent and see where they can help and what they can produce. So technically the route were taking ...

Production blog

My group and I are still in the beginning of the process of making our film. We are trying to come up with more places that are convenient for us to film so that the video will be more interesting and complete.  Our initial view of the film was to begin it with a girl in her room about to make the worst decision of her life. We are currently chopping up some different ideas of how the film is going to play out such as what will really happen and what we want our story plot to look like. What the young girl does makes the film, the film. It makes the film connect throughout the two minutes of what is playing. We have an understanding of most of what we want the film to look like, we just need to finalize it and make it come together onto one piece. There are also other things that the group still hasn't talked bout. But we know what we want the main concept of the film to be we just need basic things such as costumes, extra actors and music. We know who and what we want a...

Filming and Editing Blog

Image
Throughout My group's movie project, we have spent majority of our time planning and trying to adequately make our piece come together. Spending a lot of time thinking what and where will our movie take place. Trying to figure out what is clear of what we're doing, so that our movie makes since and holds a meaning to our viewers. Putting the characters intact and making sure that everyone will be able to fulfill the task given. What was most important to us was our setup, being able to understand each others viewpoint and come to the conclusion of a settled idea. My group members have a busy schedule so what was most important was making sure we planned shooting on days we were all available. Starting to purchase props, understanding are locations , and getting everything situated so we are able to record. Contemplating on what effects should be used and how should they be applied. What descriptive word choice will be used to make our movie amazing? How will we make our scene ...

Planning Script: Final Task

Image
Planning for scripts is hard, even when working with a group. My group and I have spent hours having group conversations and brainstorming. There were many times when we all were stuck and couldn't figure out what to script next or the different moves a character should make. Although we struggled, we did it. Take a look at some of what we came up with it.  Scripts Dialogue, Scene 1 No dialogue Dialogue, Scene 2 Alex; Ugh, another one? Mom; What's wrong hunny? Alex: Nothing, schools just tiring. Mom; You'll be okay. You got it.  Dialogue, Scene 3 Alex: *sobbing* I cant do this anymore. Kelsie; Hey Alex, I have so much to tell you Alex: What happened, are you okay? Kelsie; No, let me tell you what Tyrone did. Alex; Okay, I'm listening. Kelsie: I caught him texting ALISHA. Alex; Oh wow, she always had it out for him. Kelsie: I know, I don't know what to do Alex: Maybe just talk to him about it.  Kelsie: You're right. thanks. Love you alex. Alex: Love you too. Sho...

Planning Blog: Location, Participants, and Schedule

Image
This new project requires a lot. This time, the main goal of this final task is to make a movie film. The movie film will be about a suicide that happened because of the stress of online school. Since online school has impacted kids across the United States, my group and I thought it would be a great idea to make a film about something that's going on in today's society.  The schedule that we set up for our project is very time manageable for everyone in our group. Some of the participants in our film has jobs and other things to do so we made a schedule that will be able to fit everybody.  Schedule: 2/28/21 - 3/8/21: We will start brainstorming ideas about where the setting is, cast and what the film is truly going to be about. We will make a schedule of who will be available and what times. We will choose extras of who we want to be in our video and make sure that their availability matches ours. We will then begin brainstorming about different settings and where we wa...

Planning: Title Design

Image
Planning Blog Font: Title font for our group will be bolded in impact font while the other titles are heltivica font  Contrast: All the titles will be white with a back outline/ our movie titles will be a large focused font size that is clear and readable to the audience, while the other title credits will be medium sized, around the font size of 48. Spacing: The default spacing is the spacing that will be used to display all of our titles, and enhance  Working Title: Our title for our movie will be "Suicide Line" The first scene of the movie when the main character is being recognized inside of their room waking up to get ready for online school is when the Title will emerge across the screen from a diagonal point crossing the screen and moving side ways at a steady paste Slowly after that you will see the other titles come in and out of the screen distinctly and appear and disappear as the intro continues. Titles will remain on the screen for 3-5 seconds, so that they ...
